Molybdenum Oxide

It is usually granular with a yellowish appearance. The maximum particle size is 5 mm and the specific gravity is 4.692 g/cm3. Its sublimation begins above 600oC Molybdenum oxide is very stable in air, slightly soluble in water, soluble in ammonia, hydrofluoric acid, and concentrated sulfuric acid. Molybdenum oxide not only can be used as raw material to prepare ferro-molybdenum and molybdenum compounds, but also directly added to molybdenum alloy to improve its properties of the alloy.

Product Presentation
Molybdenum calcite (industrial molybdenum oxide) is the main molybdenum product added to alloys and stainless steel to meet the requirements of steelmaking.
Industrial molybdenum oxide products are available in a variety of forms and packages. Industrial molybdenum oxide powder is available in bags, barrels, and cans. Industrial molybdenum oxide spheres are carbon-free spheres and it is packaged in bags and barrels. Industrial molybdenum oxide blocks are carbon-containing blocks. High-purity MoO3 can be prepared by sublimation and purification of a 10 Kg box of industrial molybdenum oxide, and many pure molybdenum chemicals (mainly molybdenum oxide and molybdate) can be produced by the wet chemical process.
The specific process is to decompose in alkaline medium (ammonium or sodium hydroxide), then through precipitation and filtration (or solvent extraction) to remove impurities to get ammonium molybdate solution. Ammonium molybdate solution can be converted into various molybdenum products by crystallization or acid precipitation. These molybdenum products can be further processed into high-purity molybdenum trioxide by calcination.
