Ferro-molybdenum

Ferro-molybdenum, the content of molybdenum is 50~60%, and used as an alloy additive in steelmaking. Adding molybdenum to steel can make steel have uniform fine crystal structure, and improve the hardenability of steel, which is beneficial to eliminate tempering brittleness. Molybdenum can replace part of tungsten in high-speed steel. Molybdenum, in combination with other alloying elements, is widely used in the production of stainless steel, heat-resistant steel, acid-resistant steel and tool steel, as well as alloys with special physical properties. In addition, molybdenum added to cast iron can increase its strength and wear resistance.

Physical State
The product is delivered in blocks, and the lumpiness range is 10~150 mm. The particle size below 10 mm shall not exceed 5% of the total weight of the lot, and allow a small amount of lumpiness in one direction the maximum size is 180 mm.
(1) Quality inspection and acceptance. The quality inspection and acceptance of the products should meet the requirements of GB/T3650-95 "General Provisions for Acceptance, Packaging, storage, transportation, marking and Quality Certificate of Ferroalloys".
(2) Lot grouping. When the products are delivered in a batch of one furnace or in batches agreed by the parties, the difference between the maximum or minimum molybdenum content in each batch and the average molybdenum content in the sample shall not exceed 3%.
(3) Samples. Samples for chemical analysis should be taken in accordance with GB/T4010-94 "Sampling and Preparation of Samples for Chemical Analysis of Ferroalloys".
(4) Sample preparation. The preparation of samples for chemical analysis should be carried out according to GB/T4010-94 "Sampling and Preparation of Samples for Chemical Analysis of Ferroalloys".
(5) Chemical analysis method. The corresponding elements are tested according to the following criteria:
GB50591-85-Determination of molybdenum content by the 8-hydroxyquinoline gravimetric method:
GB50592-85-Determination of antimony by malachite green spectrophotometry;
GB5059.3-85-Determination of copper by atomic absorption spectrophotometry;
GB5059.4-88-Determination of tin by polarography;
GB5059.5-86-Determination of silicon by Gravimetric method;
GB5059.6-86-Determination of phosphorus content by molybdenum blu-ray method;
GB5059.7-88-Determination of carbon content by infrared absorption;
GB5059.8-88-Determination of carbon by coulomb method;
GB5059.9-88-Determination of sulfur content by infrared absorption method;
GB5059.10-88-Determination of sulfur by combustion potassium iodate titration.

Packing, storage and transportation, marking and quality certificate
(1) The product is packed in iron drums with a net weight of 100 kg per barrel. If the demander has special requirements on the packaging, both parties can negotiate to solve the problem.
(2) The packaged products should be stored in the warehouse, and the delivery should be made by car with sheds. If it is stored in the open air or shipped by open vehicles, it should be covered with tarpaulin to prevent water seepage or sundries in the package. It is forbidden to mix batches and numbers during storage and transportation.
(3) There must be obvious marks on the product packaging, labels and marks of finished products should be attached to the packaging. The content of the label should meet the requirements of GB/ T3650-95.
(4) At the time of delivery, the supplier shall issue a product quality certificate, the content of which shall meet the requirements of GB/T3650-95.

Matters needing attention
The alloy which meets the standard requirement is microcrystalline structures and its fracture surface is lackluster. If there are bright "small stars" in the alloy section, which indicates the content of sulfur is high. Alloys with high silicon content are characterized by lustrous and "specular glitter" at the fracture surface.
The product is suitable for steelmaking as molybdenum element addition, which is smelting alloy steel, tool steel, stainless steel, and die steel additive. It is an export product and used in wear-resistant, heat-resistant cast iron production, widely used in metallurgical building materials, machinery, geology and other industries. Furthermore, smelting and casting technical personnel are more concentrated in the iron and steel talent network.
Packing, storage and transportation: the products are packed in bags and iron drums, each package is 50 Kg and 100 Kg. If the user has special requirements, the two parties agree on storage and storage, waterproof and moisture-proof, the supplier can agent consignments.
Ferro-molybdenum is usually smelted by the metallic thermal process. Ferro molybdenum is a legally inspected commodity. The main producing areas are Jilin, Hebei, Jiangsu, Henan, and Liaoning etc., and mainly exported to the United States, the Netherlands, Germany and so on.
Ferro molybdenum was delivered in blocks. Size :10~30 mm, 10~50 mm, 30~50 mm.
Mainly used in steel industry and special fields.
